Picton regeneneration - Liverpool.

A now well-positioned urban area close to Liverpool City Centre, Picton has been subjected to the push and pull of economic change and urban infrastructure interventions designed in the past 100 years to bypass the area and link the suburbs to the Pierhead. This has resulted in a fragmented, heterogeneous reality with the west part of Picton disintegrating and the east part a still intact urban grain. The planning strategy seeks to find the means of returning a homogeneity to the area, with a re-invigorated 'High Street' running the length of the neighbourhood, significant new development in the east and a 'menu' of smaller interventions - an urban acupuncture - throughout.
